Mr. Romano grew up in Lombard and attended Christ the King Elementary School and Glenbard East High School. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, majoring in Psychology with a Sociology Minor. After several years in the business workforce, he went back to school to earn his Master's in Business Administration from Elmhurst University. He worked for 22 years in the Investment Management field until recently.  He has also coached for over a decade various sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball and track & field.  He has also been an active leader in the Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA program with his three sons.  He also serves on the Villa Park Planning and Zoning Commission and is a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #6090, located here at St. Pius X and Sacred Heart Parishes.

He believes that children should explore as many areas of academic and athletic challenges as possible at the grade school level to discover that with some focus, hard work, and a little guidance they can overcome any obstacle. He is now the Athletic Director at SPX.   His tow older sons graduated St. Pius X and now attend Willowbrook High School and his third son is still a student here.

The St. Pius X Athletic Board consists of coaches, parents, and former athletes. Members act as an advisory board to our Athletic Director, Mr. Dominick Romano.  All student-athlete parents/guardians are automatically members and welcome to participate.  The Athletic Board and Mr. Romano collaborate to improve the function of SPX Athletics. Additionally, they conduct fundraising and charitable events such as "Volley for the Cure" and "Hoops for the Troops" which collect donations in the form of money and goods to help others in need.  If you are interested in taking more of leadership role in the SPX Athletic Board and becoming an officer, please contact Mr. Romano.
